Having worked on my animal sculptures for the past 4 years, my confidence and love of this challenging medium has come on enormously. Using Scarva paper clay which is so forgiving and an amazing medium to work with has given me confidence to tackle more challenging pieces like the Orang Utans. (Spoiler alert here: the fur was made with the garlic press from my kitchen drawer and still works for the purpose it was intended)!!
